EUBAM: Moldovan Customs cuts paperwork for clearance. 27.05.2015.

Thanks to the modernisation of border and customs services control procedures bringing them into line with EU and international standards, the number of documents needed for customs declarations in Moldova has been reduced to just three.
The move followed advice and assistance from the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM), which is supporting Moldovan Customs in its efforts. It fulfils one of Moldova's trade facilitation obligations under the Association Agreement and related Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area signed with the EU in 2014. The new procedures will also drive down costs for business and boost trade.

The prospect of EU membership for countries that signed the Agreements should be included in the joint declaration of the Riga Summit,”said co-chair of the EaP CSF Steering Committee Krzysztof Bobinski.
