Ce ar trebui să facă R. Moldova pentru a contracara „politicile agresive rusești” în estul Europei?
La ministeriala NATO de săptămâna trecută de pregătire a summitului de la Varșovia, Secretarul general al Alianţei Nord-Atlantice, Jens Stoltenberg, a pomenit şi Republica Moldova printre provocările cu care se confruntă NATO în contracararea politicilor agresive rusești în estul Europei. „Apărarea colectivă are de-a face şi cu sudul, dar şi cu estul, unde lucrăm şi cu state precum Republica Moldova sau Ucraina”, a menționat Jens Stoltenberg. Într-un interviu pe care ni l-a acordat în ajun, analistul american Vladimir Socor de la Fundaţia Jamestown şi Eurasia Daily Monitor ne-a explicat ce ar trebui, dar nu face Republica Moldova ca să răspundă acestui gen de îngrijorări din partea Alianţei Nord-Atlantice.

Președintele Clinton l-a nominalizat pe Rudolf Vilem Perina să devină Ambasadorul Statelor Unite ale Americii în Republica Moldova la data de 27 aprilie 1998, diplomatul a fost confirmat de Senat la data de 26 iunie și a prezentat scrisorile de acreditare Președintelui Republicii Moldova pe 11 septembrie, 1998.
Dl. Perina este originar din Los Angeles, California, un membru de carieră al Serviciului Diplomatic, a aderat la Serviciul de Externe al Departamentului de Stat în 1974, și s-a specializat în afacerile Europei de Est, a Germaniei și în afacerile NATO.
În cei 32 de ani de carieră în cadrul Departamentului de Stat, activitățile sale au inclus Ottawa, Moscova, Misiunea SUA în Berlinul de Vest, Misiunea SUA la NATO, la Bruxelles, și Misiunea SUA la OSCE din Viena.

The Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies (GISS) held the workshop: “Communicating Europe in Georgia
during the AA and DCFTA implementation” on May 23, 2016 at the Europe House.
The workshop gathered Georgian experts to discuss the stage of Georgia’s relations with the EU after a year
of AA/DCFTA implementation, with particular focus on the implementation of the communication strategy,
positive developments and main challenges in this regard. After initial presentation of project findings, the
experts shared their views and observations based on their own experience. GISS will incorporate
pertinent observations and thoughts.

Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies (GISS) is pleased to invite you to the workshop: Communicating Europe in Georgia during the AA and DCFTA implementation process which will take place on May 23, 2016 beginning with 11:00 am at Europe House.
The workshop will gather the Georgian experts and interested groups together to discuss the stage of Georgia’s relations with the EU after a year of AA/DCFTA implementation, with particular focus on implementation of the communication strategy, positive experiences and the main deficiencies in this regard. The main objective of the workshop is through discussion to draw out recommendations and accordingly enrich the Policy Paper drafted by GISS.
The aim of the project:
The project aims to target several areas of mutual interest between the V4 and the EaP countries, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine, including capacity building and regional cooperation by transfer of V4 countries experience in EU integration processes via collecting best practices and lessons learned in the field of communication strategies.
The present project is be implemented by the Foreign Policy Association in partnership with the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies, Center for EU Enlargement Studies, Research Center of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association, Association for International Affairs, The Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies, Civic Organization Institute of World Policy
The project “V4 Supporting Communication Strategy of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine on implementing AA and DCFTA” is led by the Foreign Policy Association of Moldova and supported by the International Visegrad Fund. Dr. Kacper Rekawek, The Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM)
Kacper Rękawek is an analyst at the Polish Institute of International Affairs, assistant professor at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, Poland, and the managing editor of The Polish Quarterly of International Affairs. He is also the author of the Irish Republican Terrorism and Politics (Routledge, 2011). His work appeared in Terrorism and Political Violence, Irish Political Studies, Critical Studies on Terrorism.
Victor Chirila. Executive Director of the Foreign Policy Association (APE)
Victor Chirila is Executive Director of the Foreign Policy Association. He holds Master of Science in European Public Policy awarded by the Edinburgh University, United Kingdom. Between 1996 and 2006, Mr. Chirila worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova. During this period, he held different positions including Deputy Director of the European Integration Department, Chief of Staff of the Foreign Minister, Political Counselor at the Moldovan Embassy in the United State of America, Deputy Director of the Europe and North America Department and the International Economic Relations Department. He has written many analyses, commentaries and studies on European integration, Moldovan foreign policy and Transnistrian settlement.

Kacper Rękawek, The Polish Institute of International Affairs analyst in the international security programme, has been awarded a NATO grant from the Science for Peace and Security Programme (SPS) to organise the Advanced Research Workshop (ARW):
Not Only Syria? Foreign Fighters: A Threat To NATO Allies And Their Neighbours.
The Workshop will be held tomorrow with duration of 3 days from 18 to 20 May 2016 in Chisinau, Moldova.
The Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) is administering the grant and the Foreign Policy Association (APE) is PISM’s partner in the project. Kacper Rękawek will serve as co-director of the ARW along with Victor Chirila of APE.
PISM’s involvement with NATO’s Science for Peace and Security Programme continues Poland’s cooperation with NATO in the field of science. This is 3rd NATO ARW event which PISM administers.
The proposed activity addresses the SPS Key Priority
1. Facilitation of mutually beneficial cooperation on issues of common interest, including international efforts to meet emerging security challenges like counter-terrorism
2. Human factors in the defence against terrorism. It is closely connected with NATO’s core task of cooperative security, and the Alliance’s intentions of enhancing international security beyond its borders.
